Patchworkers 37th Annual Quilt Show






Record-breaking attendance marked the Patchworkers 37th Annual Quilt Show on August 7th and 8th, 2010 at St. Theresa's in Windham, NY. Mary Donovan and Gail Parry greeted everyone on their way into the show.








Highlighting the show was the raffle quilt designed by Carolyn Miller and Clara Thompson. The raffle this year was to benefit the Community Action of Greene County's Emergency Aid Fund.


Just past the raffle quilt were the bountiful 
Chinese auction baskets. These themed baskets are filled with all kinds of delights --fresh vegetables, quilting supplies, fun stuff for kids, relaxing bath fragrances--there's something for everyone. This popular event was overseen by Carolyn Miller and Gean VanVechten who auctioned off over a dozen baskets.






Anne Casey, Margy Davis and Laura Ferro had a very busy weekend at our "notions" table where books, patterns, fabric, and trims are sold. Many bargains were to be had.

Every year we have a boutique filled with the beautiful handwork--quilted, sewn, crocheted, knitted and embroidered--of our members. Below are Marit Selber, Nettie Brink and Betty Verhoeven who are modeling some of their creations for the boutique.

In Memoriam
Our hearts were saddened this year with the passing of Vivian Ruoff and Shirley Lewin, two longtime members.  Vivian was a founding member of the Patchworkers in 1973.  We miss them both.

Community Project
This year the Patchworkers have been making and donating baby quilts to the Kingston Hospital Maternity Center. Carol Poulonis is showing off some of the dozens of quilts and crocheted baby caps we've made.

Voting for their favorite quilt and wallhanging is always a tough decision for those who attend the show. Eventually though, the ballots are cast
