It's sugaring time.....

We had the pleasure today to see maple syrup being made. What a treat!
And Spring was in full swing today. It was high 50's , sunny and just beautiful!
Matina made a corn chowder soup that was so delicious and Karen had a raspberry pie and brownies from Arthurs Bakery.....Yummy
Pat brought out some blocks that she won at Wiltwyck and we had fun arranging them with her.
Clara is back from Virginia and showed us a delightful baby quilt she made and Marianne showed her latest wool quilt creation.

Spring in the Catskills

Spring has arrived though she is making a timid appearance on the mountain top. Spring finds Peggy traveling in Austria. Can't wait to hear about all her adventures when she returns. Doris has donated a quilt to the Patchworkers and this quilt top will be put on the frame to be tied as soon as the raffle quilt is complete.
Hope everyone is busy making quilts to hang proudly at this years show! Some members are making items for the silent auction using the fabric donated to us by Cranston Fabrics .Carolyn make a wonderful tote bag and Clara an adorable doll quilt and pillow. The fabric line is the collection by Artist, Parvaneh Holloway. It features her namesake, the butterfly. The butterflies adorn images of perfume bottles, enameled pens and enameled egg sculptures. Very pretty fabrics.
Not mentioned before are the recipients of the raffle quilt proceeds. They are the D.R. Ervants Library of Athens and the Mountaintop Animal Friends.

Happy Spring Everyone!

Our 2006 Raffle Quilt

The following pictures are of our 2006 raffle quilt. This quilt will be raffled off at our annual quilt fair in August. Shown here are members putting the quilt on the frame . We have a great time when we meet each week to quilt. We start at 10:00 am , stop for lunch and then it's back to quilting. Each week a member brings the soup and bread for lunch and another member brings dessert. Can't beat that!

Welcome

March finds the Patchworkers very busy at the quilt frame quilting the 2006 raffle quilt. This years raffle quilt is a beautiful Dresden plate done in reproduction 30's feedsacks.
Since January, members have been collecting canned goods for the local food pantry. Today they were delivered to the Presbyterian Church in Jewett.
Please, come back often. We are always up to something.
Most important, mark your calendar for our 33rd Annual Quilt Fair which will be held August 12, 2006. More details are upcoming.
