In early July many members displayed quilts at the Great Catskill Mountain Quilt Show. The theme for the show this year was Dutch Quilting. Dutch master quilter Rita Berghuis brought an assortment of traditional and contemporary quilts from her homeland and gave lectures about the evolution of modern Dutch quilting techniques and themes . This was her first visit to America and she loved the Catskills !
The Hall of Fame picnic was held in July and it was a beautiful day in the mountains. Sharing quilts, stories and friendships. Jim and Bob from Woodstock Quilt Supply gave a lecture on quilting and paper piecing.
Karen R made a display for her Happy Comfort Dolls and gave out many patterns for her dolls. So far, dolls have been sent to China, Africa and India.
Pat shows off her beautiful bag using the block she made at a workshop given by a Dutch quilter. What a great way not to have a UFO!
As always the picnic is great fun with great food!
