Six Patchworkers Visit Lancaster

Rose, Pat, Clara, Mary, Laura and Angee spent 3 days in Lancaster doing what quilters do best...admiring beautiful quilts and shopping for fabric! And shop they did! The first stop on their way to Lancaster was Sauders, a wonderful fabric shop run by Mennonites in Denver, PA. Two hours there and arms full of goodies they preceded on to Lancaster. Once checked into their motel, they gathered in one room and had show and tell of their purchases. Dinner was at a rowdy place called Texas Roadhouse.
Thursday found them all day at the Quilters Heritage Quilt Show . This was Laura's first "big" show and she was in awe of all the beautiful quilts and surroundings. She purchased some beautiful batik panels and the fever caught her!
Friday it was off to Intercourse, PA to visit 3 more quilt shops. The Quilt and Fabric Shack, The Country Store and Zooks. By this time quilters from around the world are in full force and all the shops are packed. I call it the Quilters Shuffle, to get around the people and aisles of fabrics. When your arms are full of bolts of fabric it can be quite challenging!
Saturday found them heading home with all their great finds and fun memories.

First two pictures are of us meeting up to have lunch. The next two pictures are of an Amish boy riding his wagon down the road between farms. He was moving at a good clip.
